A Wilkinson County Middle School teacher has been taken into custody on serious charges including aggravated assault and cruelty to children. Jamel Mikal Ashley, 46, of Danville, was arrested after an incident where he reportedly held a pair of scissors to a student's throat. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) responded to a request from the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office on Monday, and is currently heading the ongoing investigation.
