
A woman is in critical condition after a shooting incident took place outside a Memphis shopping center. The Memphis Police Department reported to the scene at approximately 10 p.m. on May 5th, where they discovered the victim with a gunshot wound to her upper right torso. According to Action News 5, the shooting occurred after the victim was involved in a heated argument with an individual believed to be the ex-boyfriend of one of the witnesses.
After allegedly pulling out a handgun, the assailant shot the victim before fleeing the scene. The emergency responders quickly transported the injured woman to Regional One Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. The suspect, described as a 26-year-old man wearing all black with a low haircut, is reported by WREG to have last been seen running westbound on Kimball Avenue, armed with a silver handgun.
Witnesses at the scene shared that the violence erupted following an altercation on the side of the building at the shopping center located at 2757 Kimball Avenue. Law enforcement has yet to detain any suspects in connection with the shooting.
