
A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies in connection with a series of violent crimes in Chicago, according to the Chicago Police Department. The juvenile, whose identity has not been revealed due to his age, faces charges that include aggravated battery in a public place, aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm, and attempted armed robbery.
The series of incidents culminated in an arrest by the Vehicular Hijacking Task Force on Monday, not far from where the acts were committed on the 6700 block of S. Dorchester Ave, as per the Chicago Police Department. One of the charges stems from an incident involving the carjacking of a 19-year-old male on May 13 in the 1100 block of S Delano Ct. W. Taken at gunpoint, the victim was reportedly in the 1st District at the time of the crime.
The teenager is also linked with the aggravated battery and attempted vehicular hijacking of a 29-year-old woman which took place the following day on the 1100 block of S. Delano Ct E. Additionally, he faces charges related to the attempted robbery and aggravated battery of a 25-year-old male that occurred on May 19 while on a train in the 200 block of W. 47th St. The train, situated in the city's 9th District, was the scene where the suspect engaged in the violent attempt, police said.
Following his capture, the young offender was placed into custody, charged accordingly with these serious criminal offenses. The Chicago Police Department states, "No additional information is available at this time."
