
In the early hours of Wednesday, an intersection in the Woodlawn neighborhood became the site of a car crash involving two Chicago police officers and a civilian. The officers, responding to a call, were traveling northbound on South Cottage Grove Avenue when their vehicle, with emergency lights and sirens activated, collided with a green sedan, reported the Chicago Sun-Times.
Around 1 a.m., while heading to the scene of an incident, the police car crashed into the sedan. Both officers were subsequently taken to a nearby hospital and are in good condition, having sustained minor injuries. The sedan’s driver, a 45-year-old woman, also suffered minor injuries in the crash but refused medical treatment, refusing the aid offered at the scene.
No citations were given out in the immediate aftermath, and the authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding the event.
