
Chicago saw yet another instance of gun violence this past week, with the arrest of Raymone Addison, a 33-year-old charged with the aggravated battery of a 52-year-old male. According to the Chicago Police Department News Affairs, Addison, from the 900 block of N. Long Ave. faces one felony count of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm and another for possessing a weapon as a felon.
The arrest took place on Sunday at approximately 9:45 AM, in the vicinity of the 5500 block of W. Corcoran Pl. Addison was swiftly identified and taken into custody and is now set to appear for a detention hearing. It appears that the shooting unfolded less than two hours prior on the 4400 block of W. Monroe St., within the 11th District, leaving the victim in a serious condition.
Details surrounding the incident remain scarce; the police have not released further information post-arrest. The alleged offender is currently awaiting his Detention Hearing, which is scheduled to take place at 2600 S. California today.
