Chicago has witnessed a swift response from the Area Five Homicide Investigation Support Team with the arrest of 18-year-old William Soto, following a violent episode late last April. Soto, originating from the 4800 block of W. Fletcher St., Chicago, Illinois, faces two felony counts of attempted first-degree murder, according to the Chicago Police Department. These charges stem from an incident where two males, aged 22 and 40, were left seriously injured after a shooting on a bus located on the 4800 block of W. Belmont Ave.
The arrest, as detailed by the Chicago Police Department, took place on Tuesday, in the vicinity of the 0-100 block of E. 71st St. As it stands, a detention hearing is scheduled for today, at 2600 S. California.
Information leading to Soto's identification and subsequent arrest by law enforcement was painstakingly gathered, though details of this process remain undisclosed. The Chicago Police Department's news release did not offer additional insight into the motives or circumstances of the shooting.
