Residents of District 6 in Miami have a reason to look forward to the weekend as Commissioner Natalie Milian Orbis teams up with Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez to bring much-needed driver license services directly to the community. A Mobile Driver License Event is slated to take place on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at A.D. Barnes Park, offering an array of services that include renewals, replacements, and ID cards, to name a few.
In a statement obtained by Miami Dade County's advisory release, Commissioner Orbis emphasized the importance of accessibility, stating, “Bringing government services closer to our residents is one of my top priorities. That is why I am proud to partner with the Miami-Dade Tax Collector's Office to host a Mobile Driver License Event right here in District 6. This event will provide an opportunity for residents to have their identification and registration services taken care of in their own neighborhood.” She added that the event serves to streamline the necessary processes required for residents to keep their official documents up to date.
Those who wish to take advantage of this opportunity are required to make appointments through a form provided online. On the day of the event, participants must present original documents that verify their identity. The list of acceptable documents varies based on citizenship status, including passports and birth certificates for U.S citizens, and I-1551 Resident Cards for residents, among others.
