A woman from Dickson was arrested in connection with a camper fire in Camden, Benton County. The arrest came after a joint investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation fire agents and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office that started on Tuesday.
A fire occurred in the 60 block of Highlander Lane, causing injury to a person. Authorities identified Lindsay Joy Hooker, born June 27, 1986, as the suspect responsible for starting the fire. On Thursday, Hooker was arrested and charged with one count of Aggravated Arson and one count of Assault. She was booked into Benton County Jail with a $50,000 bond, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Lindsay Joy Hooker faces charges related to an intentionally set fire. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation stated, "The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence," and "The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law." Hooker will await her court date. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation also asked anyone with information about arson to call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017 to report suspected cases confidentially.
