Douglas County deputies arrested ten individuals in a crackdown on illegal street racing in Lithia Springs. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, approximately 15 vehicles were reported performing burnouts on 767 Douglas Hill Road when authorities responded.
Two vehicles attempted to flee, leading to a pursuit of a Dodge Charger that was later halted due to safety concerns. Those arrested were charged with participation in street racing, and one individual was also charged with possession of a misdemeanor amount of marijuana.
The individuals arrested came from various locations, including Douglasville, Conyers, Stockbridge, Morrow, Powder Springs, Villa Rica, and Ellenwood. The identities of the suspects have not been released.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office did not provide details about the date or time of the incident, but noted that the group might be linked to a car club known for filming their activities, as per WSB Radio. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
