The closure was initiated to allow for the replacement of a section of water main that had ruptured, causing inconvenience to drivers and residents alike.
It was just yesterday when crews worked diligently, navigating the subterranean intricacies of the city's water supply to replace approximately 10 feet of 6-inch water main, and the city of Fort Lauderdale's announcement came shortly after, signaling the beginning of road restoration which has since completed—as was reported on their official website. The Fort Lauderdale team had promised to reopen the lanes by evening, and they successfully completed the task ahead of schedule.
Throughout the process, regular updates were provided by the city, keeping the community informed about the progress. The final update, confirming the completion of road restoration and the reopening of lanes, was given yesterday evening at 7:30 p.m. "Road restoration has been completed. All lanes of Las Olas Boulevard are now open. We appreciate the patience of our neighbors while we completed this important work," the city's statement read.
