The city of Glendale has been recognized as Arizona’s "Best City for Business" for the year, an honor presented by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The award celebrates the city's efforts in bolstering Arizona's position on the global economic stage and pushing forward the interests of its business community.
Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps expressed pride in receiving the accolade, remarking, "We’ve known for some time that Glendale is the most business-friendly city in Arizona. What makes this award especially meaningful is that it validates that belief, not just internally, but from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce." The chamber's decision was unanimous, acknowledging Glendale's robust approach to economic development and its strategic alliances with businesses.
"Glendale has shown what it means to be a pro-growth, pro-business city," stated Danny Seiden, president and CEO of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The chamber recognized the city's knack for attracting new investments and buttressing its current economic players as key factors for its decision. Seiden's thoughts reflect the community’s satisfaction with Glendale's strategies to foster job opportunities and encourage long-term economic prosperity.
Glendale has been assertive in enhancing its appeal as a center for employment and entertainment. In recent years, the area has seen the creation of nearly 13,000 jobs spread out across various sectors and currently boasts over $1.5 billion in development projects within its Sports and Entertainment District. Mayor Jerry P. Weiers said, "This award is a credit to the continued efforts of our incredible economic development team, our business partnerships, and our City Council." In his opinion, this award cements Glendale's reputation as a hub for both businesses and families.
The recognition was part of the Arizona Chamber’s 2025 Annual Awards Celebration, which occurred on June 3, 2025, in Phoenix.
