Early this morning, in Hialeah saw a serious collision that resulted in injuries for both a police officer and another individual. A Hialeah police officer's cruiser was involved in a crash with a black Cadillac, as confirmed by authorities. The incident occurred at the intersection of East Fourth Avenue and East 18th Street around 12:45 a.m., according to Local10 News. The Cadillac driver reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign, which led to the collision with the marked police unit.
Both the officer and the driver of the Cadillac sustained injuries requiring attention at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. While their conditions have not been disclosed, the accident did require closure of the roadway during the investigation, as per 7News which also reported extensive damage done to the police cruiser and other urban fixtures.
