In a twist of fate for two Hollywood brothers, their stolen food trailer has been recovered in Dania Beach after a heart-wrenching theft that threatened to lay their dreams asunder. Sohail Shadimhr and Oroud Jahangiri had invested in a $25,000 food truck to kick start a family business centered around Persian kebabs, only to have it vanish from an Extra Space Storage facility, according to a report by Hoodline. Jahangiri, who has cerebral palsy, saw the truck, which also contained roughly $3,000 in equipment, as a step toward independence, with him telling 7News, "I was very excited, because finally I was going to be on my own feet."
As the duo prepared to unveil their culinary venture, the theft threw their plans into disarray, but their fortitude remained unshaken despite the setback and the subsequent breakdown of the truck used to tow their newly recovered trailer, a confluence of misfortune that has tethered the trailer at the police station for a stretch longer. The storage facility has been cooperating with law enforcement, providing critical video footage to aid the investigation into the brazen heist, a representative from Extra Space Storage detailed the commitment to security and an ongoing review of procedures following the incident in a statement obtained by Hoodline: “We are working with local authorities on their investigation of this uncommon break-in. We’ve provided law enforcement with security camera footage and information, which we hope will lead to a resolution quickly. Security is a top priority for Extra Space Storage, and we will be reviewing to see how we could improve security in this usual situation.”
Officers located the food trailer in nearby Dania Beach, undamaged. Oroud expressed relief and tentative joy at the prospect of the trailer's return, speaking to WSVN, he said, "It will be very nice. It will be, I don't know, the best." Meanwhile, Sohail observed, perhaps wishfully, that the thieves might have had a change of heart after realizing the implications of their actions, sharing with WSVN, “That is, come on, that has got to be the lowest of the lowlifes. How do you steal from — I mean, obviously, they didn’t know, and these people, maybe if they found out? Maybe something would make them not do this again.”
