The air will be abuzz with aerobatic finesse as The Great Tennessee Air Show takes to the skies, but down on the ground, it's traffic headaches for many. In a recent update issued by the La Vergne Police Department, road closures and traffic delays are to be anticipated in La Vergne and Smyrna from today through Sunday, as throngs of attendees flock to the celebrated air spectacle. According to the La Vergne Police Department's social media post, the department advises drivers of revised times for road closures starting at 2:00 PM each day.
Those navigating the vicinity during the show's run might need to adjust their routes and schedules as the expected delays will particularly affect Fergus Road, Highway 41–70, and Jones Mill Road between 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM, with Fergus Road traffic being directed westbound only, while in Smyrna, Sam Ridley Parkway and G Street will see additional closures, these intricate weavings of roadblocks and detours no doubt an effort to maintain safety amidst the influx of spectators.
Motorists are urged to plan their travels with foresight, as congested roads could significantly prolong commute times. The La Vergne Police Department extends gratitude for the community's patience and cooperation during this time, reminding drivers to approach the roads with caution for the duration of the air show.
