In a demonstration of interagency cooperation, La Vergne Police Department officers apprehended a suspect accused of domestic assault who attempted to evade law enforcement by fleeing the state. A social media post from the department details the incidence, highlighting the quick action taken by the officers involved in the matter.
According to the department's account, the suspect had already fled the scene when La Vergne officers responded to the call last week. The investigation swiftly uncovered that the suspect was planning to return to Nevada. In a strategic move, Sgt. Wilson wasted no time alerting the BNA Police, with a BOLO issued to prevent the suspect's departure by flight. Spotted at the airport, the suspect led authorities on a foot chase before being brought into custody by Officer Scott, who responded to the airport, and promptly arrested him for Domestic Assault.
The cross-departmental pursuit did not end at apprehension. Subsequent investigation divulged a troubling history of domestic assault charges originating out of Nevada tied to the individual.
