A disturbing altercation at a Lake Worth Beach baby shower last month has led to the arrest of 25-year-old Schenail R. Constant. CBS12 reported that the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) stated Constant is now facing charges, including attempted first-degree murder, after allegedly shooting a 37-year-old man over a dispute involving a chair at the event.

According to an investigation by CBS12, the incident, captured on surveillance, showed a verbal argument that spiraled into a physical confrontation, during which Constant purportedly drew a firearm and fired at the victim's calf. Neighbors in the vicinity of the South F Street residence indicate this type of violence is commonplace in the area. "Over there there’s a lot of violence, you know, everyday there’s always some shooting or stabbing and stuff, living there I’ve seen it," one local resident recounted to CBS12. "It’s a community that needs to get improved."

Following the shooting, PBSO officials were able to identify Constant and another man, Bradley Neus, as involved parties through the help of a confidential informant and surveillance footage. A subsequent search at the suspects' Greenacres residence led to the discovery of 590 grams of marijuana, a weapon, and matching clothing from the surveillance video, further implicating the two men.

An interview with a family member, as reported by WPBF, provided confirmation of Constant’s and Neus's involvement in the violent dispute. While the Sheriff’s office had previously apprehended Constant, their investigation centered on substantiating the shooter’s identity, on which point Constant denied the firearm possession and usage. Law enforcement confronted him with surveillance footage that contradicted his statements.

As the case unfolds, Constant remains in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond, while Neus faces charges for accessory after the fact and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
