In a targeted sting operation, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office has brought into custody three men accused of attempting to engage in sexual acts with minors, a vile blight which, regrettably, keeps proving to be more common than we'd hope. As the authorities posed as minors on local websites and forums, they cast the net that would snag those who seek to prey on children. Of the distressing number of over 100 individuals who responded to the ads, three took their intentions a step too far, showing up at an arranged meeting place, where they were greeted not by the minors they expected, but by deputies ready to put cuffs on wrists.
The men, now facing serious charges as reported by the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, include Philip Robert Christensen of Wellington, Vatsal Gupta of Windsor, and Jose Urritia of Grand Junction. Each man confronts a list of charges: Soliciting a Child Prostitute, Internet Luring of a Child, Cybercrime, Soliciting to Arrange a Minor Prostitute, and Attempted Sexual Assault on a Child. The bonds set by the Larimer County Court for these alleged criminals stand at a formidable $30,000 cash/surety each.
Larimer County Sheriff John Feyen did not mince words when discussing the operation. "Trying to buy sex from a prostituted child is inexcusable," he stated. "These operations shine a light on the depravity that exists – even in safe communities like ours. Our investigators will continue working to stop predators from harming our children," as per the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. This relentless pursuit of justice by Feyen and his team targets the sinister elements that stealthily orbit the innocence of youth.
