The Metropolitan Police Department is seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a string of pharmacy thefts across Northwest. The MPD released information regarding the thefts that have taken place intermittently since February of this year.

The earliest reported incident occurred on February 21, where the suspect was reported to have stolen property by stuffing items into a black trash bag in the 3300 block of New Mexico Avenue, Northwest. On April 3 and May 11, the suspect targeted a pharmacy in the 1100 block of F Street, Northwest, following a similar modus operandi, escaping with merchandise concealed within the same manner of sack. The series of thefts continued, with the most recent activity reported on May 29, again in the 3300 block of New Mexico Avenue, Northwest.

Police officials have shared surveillance images of the individual believed to be responsible for these crimes, hoping someone might recognize them. In their call to action, the police emphasized the importance of these establishments to the well-being of community members and vowed to hold offenders accountable.

In a statement released by mpdc.dc.gov, the MPD reiterated its commitment to community safety, stating: "MPD remains committed to preventing theft from establishments that are lifelines to our communities and will continue to hold offenders accountable." They also disclosed that a reward of up to $1,000 is offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Authorities are asking that anyone with knowledge of the identity or whereabouts of the suspect should contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411 and should not confront the individual directly.

The repeated occurrence of these incidents raises concerns about safety and security in the affected neighborhoods, and the MPD is urging residents to remain vigilant. As the investigation continues, updates regarding the case or the suspect's apprehension are expected to be provided by local law enforcement.
