The forecast predicts an 80% chance of rain with the possibility of 1 to 2 inches of new rainfall. Not only is heavy rain a concern, frequent lightning and robust wind gusts are on the table.

The inclement weather is due to a stalling front juxtaposed with a disturbance sweeping in from the west. NBC Miami reports that the region "desperately need the rain in spots," and the forecast indicates that the high chance for showers will persist for several days. Wednesday won't offer much reprieve, as thunderstorms are predicted to continue, boasting a high near 85 degrees and southeast winds maintaining their strength. The chance of precipitation remains high at 90%, although come nightfall, the likelihood of rain decreases slightly to 30%. The trend of wet weather and thunderstorms is expected to last until at least Thursday, when it might start to settle down towards the upcoming weekend.
