Dante Fields, a 26-year-old from Woodridge, was riding eastbound on a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck the passenger side of a 2024 VinFast sports utility vehicle that was executing a left turn.

The collision's force was fatal and despite efforts to quickly administer lifesaving measures, Fields was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a CBS News Chicago report, the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed and entered the intersection on a solid green light. Simultaneously, the SUV had been trying to turn from westbound Maple Avenue to southbound Naper Boulevard.

Investigations into the crash are ongoing by the Naperville Police Department's Traffic Unit. At this time, police said no charges have been filed in connection to the incident.
