A condo complex in Carlsbad became the scene of an urgent evacuation scenario on Monday afternoon as a fire engulfed one of the units, causing local authorities to respond swiftly to the emergency. The Carlsbad Fire Department spearheaded a multi-agency firefighting effort at the Windsong Cove community at 822 Kalpati Circle, where the blaze was reported just after 2:30 PM, per 10News.
Firefighters from Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, and Encinitas were called to the scene. They initiated their assault on the fire from the roof of the complex, which compromised its structural integrity. This made the situation perilous for those battling the flames inside, as aerial footage from Chopper 8 revealed multiple fire trucks dousing the building with water shortly after 3:30 PM, according to CBS8.
