The Nashville Police Department has identified the woman found in the Cumberland River as 29-year-old Taylor Powell. Her identity was confirmed through fingerprint analysis after her body was recovered last Thursday.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, Powell was last seen swimming near the east bank of the river on June 6, when she went underwater after coming into contact with a docked barge. A human leg found the day before the identification is believed to belong to her. No signs of foul play were found, according to authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing, and an autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.
