
Authorities are on the hunt for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a young pedestrian with serious injuries. The suspect, identified as Tony Gebian Lopez-Infante, 32, allegedly struck Zachary Carach, 21, on May 18 while Carach was crossing Church Street. The Nashville Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for Lopez-Infante.
The vehicle associated with the crash, a Mitsubishi Mirage, was discovered at a rental facility in Mt. Juliet on May 19, with noticeable damage to the front end, according to the Nashville Police Department. Investigators, who located the car on May 20, identified Lopez-Infante, a Venezuelan national, as the driver. Despite ongoing efforts, Lopez-Infante remains at large, prompting the involvement of federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations, in the search.
Lopez-Infante faces multiple charges upon his apprehension. These include leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, failure to render aid or file an accident report, attempted evidence tampering, and driving without a license or insurance, as detailed by the Nashville Police Department. Additionally, Lopez-Infante is wanted in Williamson County for an outstanding probation violation warrant tied to a prior theft arrest.
