The City of North Miami is set to host an upcoming event that fuses the love of cycling with the vibrant culture of Caribbean carnival. The "Ride & Fête: Carnival by the Pier" bike experience is scheduled for Saturday, June 21, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., as reported by the city's official news release. This adults-only gathering will embrace the essence of Caribbean festivities with masqueraders, glowsticks, paint, and powder, all set to the rhythm of Caribbean music. Designed to be a spirited celebration, the event invites participants from across South Florida to partake in the activities marking Caribbean American Heritage Month.
The ride is part of a larger, month-long observance titled "From the Islands to the World: Our Culture, Our Impact," which promises to highlight the traditions and contributions of Caribbean communities. The ride starts at Griffing Community Center and will culminate at North Bayshore William Lehman Park. Along with the bike ride, attendees can expect to enjoy a live performance by Bahamian artist Julien Believe and tunes from special guest DJ Sam Sneak. Those wishing to join the festivities will need to remember to bring their own bikes, scooters, or skates and must be at least 21 years of age to participate, as detailed by the City of North Miami.
For those interested in the Ride & Fête, advance registration is a requirement. Sign-ups can be promptly completed by visiting NoMiRideAndFete.Eventbrite.com. Registration for the event will open at 5:45 p.m. on the day of the celebration, taking place under a lighted tree at Griffing Park, where pre-ride festivities will also be available for riders to enjoy.
