
A man was pronounced dead following a fatal stabbing incident in a Northwest residence yesterday morning, authorities say. According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police Department, Fourth District officers arrived at a home in the 4100 block of 7th Street, Northwest, after receiving a report of the incident. They found 27-year-old Jonathan Fuentes-Ferrufino suffering from stab wounds.
The emergency team, including DC Fire and EMS, made all efforts to save Fuentes-Ferrufino, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Subsequently, officers arrested 25-year-old Leslie Flores, and a knife believed to be the weapon used in the crime was recovered. Flores, also of Northwest, DC, has been charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed. The investigation revealed, the stabbing was domestic.
Fuentes-Ferrufino's death has stirred questions about domestic violence and safety in intimate relationships within the community. The police report did not offer further details about the events leading to the stabbing or the relationship between the victim and the assailant.
