The WSMV report indicates that officers from the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) were dispatched to the C&G Food Mart around 9:35 p.m. on Friday after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim with a graze wound from a gunshot, which was deemed not life-threatening.
Originally, the incident was believed to have occurred in the parking lot of the said market, but further investigation revealed the shooting took place at Caldwell Lane and Maddox Circle. Found injured in a vehicle that was driven to the market post-incident, the female passenger's situation was detailed in a ClarksvilleNow update, noting she suffered a grazing gunshot wound to the head and was consequently transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a precautionary measure.
The CPD, in its efforts to shed more light on the event, has urged anyone with surveillance equipment in the immediate vicinity to examine their recordings for potential evidence.
