Travelers in Clarksville faced a disruption this afternoon as a vehicle collided with a pedestrian near a popular sandwich shop. According to an update from the Clarksville Police Department on their Facebook page, the incident took place around 3:13 p.m. at 1820 Madison Street, close to the Jimmy John's location.
The scene initially prompted a significant response with closures affecting several lanes as emergency vehicles and personnel attended to the situation, motorists found their normal routes interrupted and were advised to seek alternatives, though later updates confirmed that the previously affected roadway was reopened.
In the immediate aftermath, the involved pedestrian, whose condition has not been publicly shared, was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville for what the department has referred to as "precautionary measures." "Investigators with CPD’s Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT) are currently investigating the incident," the Clarksville Police Department stated.
