A pedestrian was killed during a traffic accident last night on Murfreesboro Pike, near Edge O Lake Drive. According to a press release from the Nashville Police Department, the crash happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. and involved a southbound Dodge Caravan that struck the 44-year-old male who was walking in the roadway.
The driver of the Caravan, whose identity has not been released, remained on the site following the collision. The victim was promptly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are currently making efforts to notify the man's family of the fatal incident. Authorities investigating the crash have not found any signs of impairment at the scene.
