A man in Putnam County is facing serious charges including attempted first-degree murder following a violent altercation with his uncle. According to WSMV, Daniel Jackson was arrested after his uncle, whom he lived with, was discovered suffering from a stabbing wound near Jess Rodgers Road last Saturday.

Last Saturday around 12:45 p.m., the Putnam County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call about an assault. A deputy found a man bleeding who identified his nephew, Daniel Jackson, as the attacker. Jackson had stabbed, hit, and choked his uncle and tried to shoot him with an unloaded shotgun. After the gun did not fire, Jackson ran into the woods but was later caught walking on Jess Rodgers Road, where he lives. During the investigation, Jackson admitted to the attack and “Daniel Jackson also admitted that he attempted to assault Dennis Jackson with a shotgun before throwing it, in an attempt to hide the firearm in the woods,” as reported by 3B Media News.

Jackson said the motive for the attack was that "he had believed his uncle owed him money and he wanted it back," as mentioned by WKRN. Jackson faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, and unlawful possession of a weapon. His bond is set at $1.2 million. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 11.
