26-year-old William Andrade of the 2800 block of Northampton Dr., Rolling Meadows, Illinois, faces a grave charge following a fatal traffic incident earlier this year. According to information released by the Chicago Police Department, Andrade has been charged with one felony count of reckless homicide. The charge stems from an accident in January where Andrade was allegedly driving on the 6300 block of N. Albany Ave. in Chicago's 24th District when he struck another vehicle, severely injuring a 14-year-old male passenger who later died.
The arrest was made jointly by the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on June 2, 2025, in the 6000 block of N. Albany Ave. Andrade, identified as the accused driver, was taken into custody amid allegations of reckless driving that led to loss of a young life. The detention hearing is scheduled for today at the courthouse located at 2600 S. California.
