As reported by the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, a mostly sunny day with temperatures peaking at around 79 degrees is expected today. Light winds from the west-northwest will pick up slightly, reaching 8 to 13 mph in the morning hours.
However, residents should anticipate a shift in the weather come nightfall. The forecast highlights a 40 percent chance of showers after 3 am, with a notable dip in temperatures to a low of around 47 degrees. Looking ahead to Sunday, the National Weather Service predicts a brief possibility of showers early in the morning with just a 20 percent chance of precipitation before 9 am. The remainder of the day should see an abundance of sunshine and a high near 70 degrees. Winds are expected to calm down further, remaining north northwest at 5 to 10 mph, and then becoming light and variable.
The upward trend in temperature continues into the new week, with Monday's forecast being mostly sunny and highs nearing 81 degrees. The calm winds will shift to the northwest in the afternoon, around 5 to 7 mph. Evening temperatures are predicted to hover at a comfortable low of approximately 57 degrees.
For those looking ahead, the weather pattern is set to deliver a consistent taste of summer warmth. Tuesday's and Wednesday's forecasts project sunny days with highs reaching 85 and 88 degrees, respectively. Nights will be partly cloudy with lows just shy of 60 degrees. And the beat goes on with Thursday showing predictions of sunny skies once more, this time with peak temperatures expected to soar to a near sweltering 94 degrees.
