Section of Buffalo Valley Road in Putnam County Closed Due to House Fire; Kittens Rescued by Responders

A residential blaze in Putnam County has necessitated the closure of part of Buffalo Valley Road, officials reported. According to the WSMV, the fire prompted responses from multiple agencies and led to the closure starting at Deer Creek Drive, with the Putnam County Sheriff's Office urging the public to avoid the area and find alternate transportation routes.

The firefighting efforts, which occurred near the 5000 block of Buffalo Valley Road, encountered flames erupting from the front of the house. These emergency crews also managed to save two kittens from the intense heat and smoke, as reported by the WKRN. The felines received oxygen treatments at the scene, showcasing the responders' dedication to life in all its forms, while the house suffered significant damage, and though no human injuries were reported, the cause of the conflagration is still under investigation.

The road closure, which impacted local traffic, was announced by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on their social media channels, advising residents to plan around the emergency services' presence. "Buffalo Valley Rd, beginning at Deer Creek Dr, is closed due to a residential fire. There is a large emergency presence in the area. Please avoid this area and take alternate routes," stated the alert from the Sheriff's Office.
