An update from the Spring Hill Fire Department's social media informed concerned locals that the fire began at approximately 1:20 pm and was discovered by a vigilant neighbor who saw smoke and quickly alerted the home's occupants, enabling them to escape without injury. SHFD's post highlighted the rapid response of the firefighting units, arriving within seven minutes of the call.
The fire escalated quickly as it was fanned by the wind, extending up the rear of the structure and into the attic and living quarters, resulting in devastating damage to the property. While the cause of the fire is presently being looked into by the SHFD Fire Investigation Unit, the situation could have been far more dire had it not been for the prompt actions of the neighbor and the swift response of emergency services. In the course of their duties, one firefighter sustained a minor hand injury and received evaluation on the scene. Another firefighter was transported to the hospital for heat exhaustion but has since been released after an assessment.
