Sunnyvale locals are grappling with the aftermath of a deadly shooting, as the Department of Public Safety continues its search for the suspect, identified as Jesus Aguilera, a 44-year-old Sunnyvale resident. The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) described the suspect as a Hispanic male, 5’11” tall, and weighing approximately 190 pounds, with brown eyes and bald, and he is considered armed and dangerous, a clear warning has been issued: if he is located, the public should call 911 immediately and not attempt to contact him, according to an alert by Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
The fatal incident took place last Thursday when at around 7:42 PM, officers responded to the 900 block of S. Wolfe Road following reports of multiple gunshots, this response ended in the discovery of an adult male victim outside the residence suffering gunshot wounds, lifesaving measures were attempted yet, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene, the Sunnyvale Police disclosed this information in their ongoing investigation into the homicide, the department's message is that anyone with information regarding the incident or Aguilera’s whereabouts should contact Detective E. Rosette at 408-730-7110, as reported by Hoodline.
While the victim's identity has not been made public during these early stages of the investigation, the police believe the suspect may have known the victim, adding a layer of potential premeditation or personal conflict to the crime, as such, the community's sense of security has been notably disrupted with this incident striking close to home.
