A 14-year-old boy is in stable condition after being shot multiple times in a juvenile-related incident Wednesday night near a skating rink in Clayton County.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta report, Clayton County Police responded around 8:30 p.m. to a residence on Amish Court in Morrow, where they found the teen with gunshot wounds to the chest, shoulder, and forearm. Police say the teen and two other juveniles were initially picked up in a red Ford Fusion at the 6000 block of Mt. Zion Boulevard when unknown individuals began shooting at the vehicle.

The group fled the scene and later stopped at Amish Court, where the victim was located. The car had multiple bullet holes. Police believe the shooting began while the vehicle was in motion.

At the original location, officers encountered a large group of juveniles in a parking lot and requested additional units for crowd control. Later that evening, a possible suspect was seen fleeing into nearby woods along Maddox Road. After a short foot chase, police apprehended the individual. The identity of the suspect and any charges have not yet been released.

The teen was transported to a hospital and remains in stable condition. Clayton County Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone with information to contact them. According to Atlanta News First, officers were led to the suspect after receiving a tip about their presence in the area.
