Following a series of disturbing antisemitic incidents, including the murder of two Israeli embassy staff in Washington, D.C. and a violent attack during a rally in Boulder, Colorado, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has issued a call to Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel to fortify their collaborative efforts against antisemitic terrorism. Paxton, leading a multistate cohort, highlighted the urgency of a comprehensive government response to combat the increase in hate-driven violence.
In a letter that Texas AG Paxton sent, he noted a surge in antisemitic terrorism since the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel. "Since the horrific October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks against the people of Israel, we’ve seen a rise in radical anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric on campuses and communities across our country," Paxton told the Texas Attorney General's Office. "We’ve also tragically seen an alarming and heartbreaking increase in domestic terrorism targeted at the Jewish community."
Paxton's multistate letter praises the existing efforts of the FBI and DOJ and encourages a deeper synergy between federal and state agencies. This strategic alliance aims to actively root out the deeply troubling antisemitic violence that has been manifesting in various forms across the United States.
"I will not rest in working to stop these hateful, unconscionable acts of violence and defeating the rampant anti-Israel hatred and antisemitism growing in this country," Paxton vowed as per the Texas Attorney General's Office website. The letter, initiated by South Carolina, ultimately serves to reinforce the commitment of multiple states to standing in solidarity with Israel and to ensuring the safety and rights of the Jewish communities nationwide.
