The case surrounding the September 2023 fatal shooting of 22-year-old Kyle Martin Jr. continues to develop, with a third suspect now facing indictment. Jaymes Greer, 25, already in custody for a separate incident, was indicted today on charges of first-degree murder, being a felon in possession of a weapon, and use of a weapon during a dangerous felony, as per the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Adding to the suspects previously detained, Nathaniel Harris and Thomas Wade, who were 20 and 22 respectively at the time of their March last year arrests, the involvement of Greer was uncovered by relentless detective work. With Greer's booking, Nashville authorities hope to find closure for the family of Martin, having been found shot multiple times in his vehicle.
According to the Nashville Police Department, the indictment was the result of persistent investigation efforts by Homicide Unit Detective Adam Reese. As stated on the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's official website, "The continued investigation...found that all three men were involved in the fatal shooting of Martin."
This painstaking detective work has led to the additional indictment almost two years after the tragic event.
