Gunfire rang out yesterday morning in a Fort Lauderdale parking garage on Las Olas Circle. Local 10 News reports that Fort Lauderdale Police were called to the scene at approximately 1:30 a.m., where they found that a violent encounter had left three adults with gunshot wounds. Gathered on the top floor of the garage, a group was met with a hail of bullets from assailants whose motives and identities remain cloaked in the early morning darkness.
After the shooting, the victims were rushed by private vehicles to Broward Health Medical Center, as confirmed by Detective Ali Adamson to the press. Although the details leading up to this event are murky, the outcome was clear: three were left hospitalized following the incident. The exact condition of these individuals, however, has yet to be disclosed by authorities.
With the investigation still in its infancy, no arrests have been made. Police have quickly determined, however, that this violent episode was a separate matter from the city's daytime festivities. According to the statements from investigators, there appears to be no connection between the shooting and the upcoming Florida Panthers celebration parade, as reported by NBC Miami. The timing of the shooting, occurring mere hours before the parade, seems to be coincidental.
Fort Lauderdale Police are calling on the community's assistance to unravel the series of events that transpired on Las Olas Circle. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police department or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477. The investigation persists.
