Three suspects were caught after an armed robbery escalated into a police pursuit in Medley, triggering law enforcement from various agencies into action. The chase began after a medical call related to a possible shooting around 11:00 a.m. today, according to 7News. Following the incident, the Sweetwater Police Department identified and followed a white Mercedes van fitting the description of the vehicle involved. The pursuit transpired amidst the landscape of 17th Street and 107th Avenue, winding its way through Medley's arteries, and concluded in a tangling crash near 10800 South River Drive.
As the chase unfolded, the fleeing suspects discarded a vest and white masks, ephemera of their criminal intent that fluttered onto the streets. The scene ended with the vehicle's occupants attempting to escape on foot, but they were swiftly contained by law enforcement. One of the suspects was wounded with a gunshot to the leg—an injury sustained during the incident that required immediate attention from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews. In parallel, a second suspect's acute trauma ushered them, by ground, to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, according to statements obtained by 7News.

Detectives scoured the area for evidence and clues. The Sweetwater Police Department disclosed that during the pursuit, at least one of their officers had discharged a firearm—a critical point that underpins the gravity of the chase, as reported by Local 10.
