Brains, brawn, and beach volleyball, these are the domains where two Utes have especially excelled this season. Ellyn Collins and Kylie Pitzak, both stellar athletes from the University of Utah's beach volleyball team, have notched Academic All-District for the 2025 season. This recognition, announced by College Sports Communicators, honors student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom for the At-Large category.
Collins, a graduate student, didn't just dive into the books with a 3.80 cumulative GPA; she also soared in the sand. Earning her master's degree in Legal Studies, she was instrumental in the team's record-setting 21 wins, personally delivering 24 of those victories. That includes some serious spiking during the Big 12 Tournament and an eyebrow-raising win against No. 12 FAU back on February 28, according to Utah Utes News.
Not to be overshadowed, Pitzak, a senior, hit a similar stride. With a 3.81 cumulative GPA, she wrapped her bachelor's degree in Quantitative Analysis of Markets and Organizations. On the court, she's been just as calculating, powering through to amass 22 wins out of 35 matches. More than just numbers, these matches meant Pitek reached a personal milestone of 50 career victories in her final season with the Utes, further contributing to the team's historic success.
