After three months of traffic disruptions, US 165 in Caldwell Parish is back to normal traffic flow. The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) confirms that the alternating lane closures that started on February 25, for roadway patching, have concluded ahead of schedule. According to the official announcement by the DOTD, the lanes were reopened following the completion of PCCP Patching on the roadway.
The project, which spanned from the intersection of US 165 and LA 4 east to the intersection of US 165 and LA 844, required daytime closures that disrupted traffic, causing minor inconvenience to daily commuters. Completed by Forby Contracting, reachable at (320) 384-6061, the work was aimed to maintain the condition and safety of this critical stretch of road. Crews worked diligently, and the DOTD expressed gratitude for the public's patience during the project which, driving through the site, was advised with caution.
For those seeking more details about the road work, DOTD Project Engineer Andy Moon, PE, can be reached at (318) 757-3832 for queries. Despite the initial two-month timeframe, the efficiency of the crew allowed for early completion, much to the relief of Caldwell Parish motorists.
DOTD's statement emphasized the importance of safety, reminding the community to "please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment."
