
In a tragic incident on Chicago's South Side, authorities have reported the death of a 1-year-old boy, who was allegedly drowned by a 31-year-old woman in Lake Michigan. According to ABC7 Chicago, the Chicago Police responded to the scene at the 7000-block of S. South Shore Drive around 9:45 p.m. on Friday. Upon their arrival, they discovered the woman in the water and subsequently learned that the child had been drowned.
The Chicago Fire Department's Marine Unit was involved in the recovery of the young boy's body. The child, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Comer Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead, as running with the acts of desperation, the woman was taken into custody and transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Currently, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has not publicly identified the baby. While investigators continue their probe into the incident, no charges have been filed yet, leaving the woman's identity undisclosed by the police, though the case has been classified as a homicide, mentioned by FOX 32 Chicago.
