An 18-year-old motorcyclist was tragically killed in a crash involving multiple vehicles in South Jordan, authorities said. The accident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 7:27 p.m. at the intersection of 11400 South and South Temple Drive. According to ABC4, the young motorcyclist collided with the side of a passenger car that was turning left onto Temple Drive.

The South Jordan Police reported that two motorcyclists were traveling eastbound when the collision happened. The motorcyclist who managed to avoid the collision did so by laying his bike down on the ground. As per the KSLTV, the other motorcyclist involved was transported to the hospital in critical condition; however, was later pronounced dead. The conditions of the other parties were less severe; the driver of the car is in "good condition," and the second motorcyclist is "stable."

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the South Valley Crash Team. Initial reports from officials suggest that speed might have been a factor contributing to the tragic outcome of the incident. The driver of the car involved in the accident was not injured and is said to be cooperating with the ongoing investigation, FOX13 reported.
