Tragedy struck in Belle Glade last Friday night when a domestic dispute turned fatal. According to reporting by CBS12, gunfire claimed the life of a woman and left a man injured, with the suspect arrested shortly after by Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputies.
The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Little Mack Williams, was found just blocks away from the crime scene. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to the shooting, which occurred just before midnight, and quickly located Williams. Deputies expect the male victim, who is yet to quickly recover from gunshot wounds. The female victim sadly succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
In a parallel report obtained by WPBF, the incident was sparked by a violent break-in allegedly by Williams, Shantay Butts' ex-boyfriend, resulting in her death. A 911 call from a juvenile male, present during the incident, described a chilling account to dispatchers, stating that Williams broke into the home and fatally shot his mother.
Williams has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and unlawful firearm possession. Reports reveal a history of multiple felony convictions for Williams that should have prevented him from owning a weapon. Notably, deputies discovered evidence implicating Williams at the scene, and during a post-Miranda interview, Williams claimed that he had entered the home and got into an altercation with the male victim wherein the gun went off. He asserts to not have shot the victims and refused to provide further details on the matter.
Williams' criminal background and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are under ongoing investigation. Further details and updates can be expected as the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office continues to delve into the case.
