A tragic hit-and-run incident has claimed the life of a bicyclist in Northwest Miami-Dade last night. Local 10 News reports that the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a scene around 9:00 p.m. near Northwest Seventh Avenue and 95th Street, where they discovered an unresponsive male.

According to WSVN, the individual was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced dead. The area, particularly Northwest Seventh Avenue, was shut down to traffic as authorities began their investigation. A witness, speaking off-camera, reported that the collision involved an older-model, dark-colored sedan that fled the scene after the incident.

"You’re responding to a pedestrian hit; the subject fled near Northwest Seventh Avenue," a dispatcher was quoted over Broadcastify. The incident led to the closure of US-441 in both directions, as reported by WSVN.

A distressed good Samaritan told Local 10 News’ Terrell Forney that they parked their white van strategically to shield the injured individual from further harm. Police have not yet released descriptions of the suspect vehicle. As the investigation continues, authorities are calling on anyone with information regarding this devastating incident to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
