Drivers in Boca Raton are facing delays as the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department works on repairing a pipeline near the intersection of Boca Woods Ln. and N. Central Park Blvd. The northbound lane on US-441/State Road 7, just north of S. Central Park Blvd., is currently closed to traffic. Commuters are advised to seek alternative routes or prepare for slowdowns.
The disruption stems from a necessary pipeline repair operation being conducted by PBCWUD, which has instituted diversions in the northbound lane closest to the median. While the department is active on-site to ensure safety and efficiency, there's no definitive timeline for when normal traffic flow will resume. In a notice on Palm Beach County's website, they state, "All necessary devices will be in place to redirect traffic as needed." However, the repair work will be a factor for travelers' itineraries for some unknown duration.
Fortunately for residents in the impacted area, no service interruptions have been reported. Daily life, aside from the roadway inconvenience, remains unscathed. PBCWUD has expressed its gratitude to the community, asking for patience and understanding during this time. "We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the community for patience and understanding as we complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible," they mentioned on their official announcement.
For any media inquiries regarding the ongoing repair and resulting traffic conditions, Beth Motschenbacher, the Public Information Manager for PBCWUD, is the appointed contact. She can be reached at (561) 493-6068 or through email at [email protected]. Commuters are encouraged to keep an eye on updates from the department, which could provide additional information, about the completion of the repair work and the reopening of the affected roadways.
