On Sunday, a commercial fire broke out at Matthews Liquor and Restaurant in Tierra del Sol. CAL FIRE San Diego and Campo Reservation Fire units responded to the blaze, as reported on CAL FIRE San Diego's social media.
Upon arriving on the scene, first responders were met with significant smoke emissions from the building's facade, indicating the intense conditions they were set to confront. During the incident, the firefighters initiated what was described as an aggressive and coordinated attack aimed at staunching the fire's potential rampage through the connected spaces, according to the same social media post.
The efforts of the firefighters on the scene proved effective, as the spread of the fire was successfully contained within the restaurant area of the structure, preventing further damage to the adjacent property sections.
"Thanks to the rapid response and teamwork on scene, no injuries were reported among civilians or first responders," stated the CAL FIRE San Diego's Instagram post. The fire crews' timely action mitigated structural loss and ensured the safety of those present.
