
A fire in the Carondelet neighborhood on Monday resulted in the deaths of two women. Authorities have identified the victims as 81-year-old Sherry Larose of Lemay, MO, and 66-year-old Elizabeth Pfaff of St. Louis City, MO. Firefighters located the bodies while examining the remains of a residence in the 3500 block of Kingsland Ct. The incident is being investigated as suspicious, and the ongoing investigation is being led by Homicide Detectives in collaboration with the Bomb and Arson Unit.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the response to the fire began around 12:45 p.m. when Bomb and Arson officers were called to investigate. After evaluating the scene, officials raised concerns that the fire may have been deliberately set. The two elderly victims were transported to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. As a result, Homicide Detectives have taken over the investigation into the incident.
As the investigation continues, authorities are requesting assistance from the public in identifying any leads that could help determine a suspect or motive in the case.
