A Tesla Cybertruck went on a car-crushing spree after reportedly losing control while racing a Lamborghini in Miami's Overtown neighborhood. According to Local 10, the carnage unfolded on Northwest Eighth Street Road yesterday morning, leaving behind at least nine battered vehicles and strewn debris.
Witnesses recorded the chaos on video, revealing a scene of destruction with several parked cars displaying smashed doors and flattened tires. Among the wreckage was a Dodge pickup truck, its driver's side severely twisted. Despite the extensive visual evidence, the driver responsible for the damage remains unidentified, and authorities have not yet provided any updates regarding arrests or liability. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported from the series of collisions.
In an interview documented by 7News, resident Jose Zelaya recounts the shocking discovery of his first-ever owned car—a white Suzuki—now nothing more than a mangled heap. Post-crash, the early morning silence was broken by onlookers who shared details of the incident with Zelaya. "The Cybertruck was racing a Lamborghini Urus, and the Cybertruck lost control and hit every single car," he was told by witnesses on the scene. Subsequent to the chaos, the damaged vehicles remained on scene.
The footage also suggests an altercation following the crashes, but by the time Miami Police officers arrived, the immediate threat had passed. "Yo, call police!" one bystander is heard shouting in the chaos captured by civilian cameras. Zelaya, still processing the loss, shared his devastation with 7News: "You know, I really love this car. This is my first car ever, actually. I’ve had it for three years now, so I just – I don’t know. It’s just a shame to see my first car, jjst to see it like this." His Suzuki was towed away, and now Zelaya has to deal with insurance paperwork and claims.
The investigation is ongoing, and Miami Police have not released any new information about the Cybertruck driver's status.
