
Chicago law enforcement officials have announced the charging of 31-year-old Nicholas Young with two counts of attempted first-degree murder. Young, a resident of the 1600 block of S. Ridgeway Ave., Chicago, Illinois, was arrested in Joliet by the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on July 23, 2025, as confirmed in a press release from the Chicago Police Department.
Following the arrest, Young was linked to a June 3rd incident in which two women, aged 36 and 49, were shot and injured in Chicago's 10th District. The shootings took place in the 4100 block of W. 19th St. Authorities have since scheduled an offender's detention hearing for July 25, 2025, at the court located at 2600 S. California.
